Thanks to everyone who has submitted their images for the bridal casting call. I was going to leave this open for at least a week, but I’ve decided to keep it open for just a few more days. I also can’t choose just one bride, so I am getting a second bridal shoot ready.
I’ve written every bride back, so if you have not received an e-mail from me, please send it again.
I’m working on a few projects and would love your opinion on some things. My first question is which image do you like the best from these two? I know, I know…. I should be able to pick between two images, but I just can’t! HAHA! I’m lucky that I was able to pick just two.
Ruben Nieves-After thinking about it for a bit, I decided I like the first one the best of the two. Mainly because i feel it’s very sweet, simple, and vivid, and those are the same words I could use to describe your photography. In the first photo I love the gesture and relationship between Aileene and him, and I love the negative space with a few clouds and the straight lines from the building. The colors are always vivid and pops in each photo, which adds to the pleasant feeling I get from looking at it.
Michelle-Thanks Ruben. Love how you also wrote why (nicely put I might add) on top of choosing an image.
Dyan -I agree. I like the first one the best. The color is gorgeous…it pops! Plus I just think it’d adorable, it looks like you captured a special moment between them (whether it’s posed or not, doesn’t look like it!)
Michelle-Thanks Dyan. I love photos that look like they were not posed, even if they were.
Marc Percy-I think it really comes down to what the project is and how the image will be used. The first was has great coloring and a lot of room to add text or something like that. It really catches the eye a lot better than the second one. I personally am not a fan of the washed out, muted tone photos that tend to be the trend now. With that said, the second one is still a great picture and is a little more personal than the first, since the couple is more prominant in the photo.
One more thought, the bottom picture feels more serious where as the top photo feels more fun.
Again it all comes down to what the intended purpose is.
Amy Dierks -I’d pick the 2nd because I like to see who is in the photo when looking at a photo.
So much has been happening the last few weeks. New adventures, new wedding website look, new images on the portrait site , new faces, and my favorite…….new nephew (my only nephew). To celebrate all the newness, I’m giving away some awesome gifts.

I love that we had some more urban engagement photos, bright and fun engagement photos, and some engagement photos in a really beautiful, natural environment.
