How to Plan a Birthday Photoshoot
Celebrating a birthday is a big deal. Having a custom birthday photoshoot is an amazing way to celebrate your birthday and create beautiful memories. Birthday photoshoots are one of my favorite sessions to photograph. It’s so fun to spoil the birthday girl with professional hair and makeup, a styled photoshoot, and gorgeous birthday photos.

Signature Session Photography
Feel like a model for your birthday photoshoot! The Signature Session is a magazine worthy photoshoot. You can choose to have our professional hair and makeup artist pamper you. Your images will be professionally edited including skin retouching.
You don’t need to be a professional model to have amazing photos. Most of the women I photograph are not professional models.
Whether you normally feel awkward in front of the camera or are super comfortable having your photo taken, I’ll help pose you so you feel confident and comfortable.
What’s On Your Wishlist?
When you book a custom photoshoot, I’ll help you plan the details of your photo session. I’ll ask you if there’s anything on your wish list or if you have any ideas for how you would like to be photographed for your birthday.

Choose Your Photoshoot Location
What kind of location are you looking for? While I love the look of outdoor photos, I will say that most of our glam photoshoots are in the studio. If the weather is nice, it can also be fun to add on an outdoor location. One thing I love about photos at the studio is that we don’t have to worry too much about the hot, dark, or rainy weather in Florida.
Wardrobe Styling
What kind of clothing would you like to wear? Do you already have outfits in mind or are you feeling overwhelmed at the thought of choosing what to wear? What you wear makes a huge impact on the look and feel of your professional photos.
I’ll send you a guide with tips and suggestions on what to wear.
You can even upgrade your session and we’ll take care of your outfits.
Props
Props are a great way to customize your birthday photoshoot. This can add color, glam, fun, and a lot more interest to your photos. Definitely have fun with the props you choose. Keep in mind what colors go with your theme or outfits. Here are some ideas for what you can bring or what we can help you style.
Fresh flowers
Balloons including foil number balloons
Birthday cake, cupcake, or dessert with candles
Noise makers
Tiara or crown for fun or drama
Confetti
There are ways of making these props more playful or elegant.
What to Expect
When you arrive at the studio, we’ll chat about photoshoot plans and go over any outfits and props you brought. If your custom birthday photoshoot is at the studio, there’s plenty of space to hang your clothes.
Enjoy a complimentary snack or water to relax. If you’re having your hair and makeup professionally done for your birthday photoshoot, we’ll typically start that very soon. Let us know any thoughts about hair and makeup and take this time to feel pampered.
